Happy Independence day.

At -68 degrees Fahrenheit and winds at 160km/hr, it was unimaginably cold that winter.

Twelve brothers in his troop were already dead due to the extreme weather condition and many were in hospital with amputated limbs lost to frostbite.

And now, as he stood by his lifeless friend, his eyes wandered over to the map of his beloved country pasted on the wall beside the bed.

Staring at it, he wondered for a second why it seemed so important to the leaders to add a totally barren, inhospitable, lifeless glacier to their country’s map.

Suddenly he heard someone shout they were facing enemy fire and without a second thought he rushed outside to fight fire in the world’s highest battlefield…completely forgetting it was his birthday that day.

That’s my post for Five Sentence Fictions word: MAPS!  Let me know if you like it! 🙂

Happy Independence day guys!

Sad but that’s the hard fact for a soldier’s life. I wish the world respects it, whether it’s Iraq, Kashmir or Donestk.

Yes..I only wish this would stop! I wish the leaders could fight in the border instead of soldiers. A very radical point, but why should soldiers keep losing their lives over decisions made by leaders?

Yes, go on, tell me what you think!
