Five Sentence Fiction – Darkness

Sana could just imagine her life now, with her loving Manoj by her side, watching sunset together in her dream patio, sipping coffee and just enjoying the evening silence.

She looked down at her phone again to make sure she read Manoj’s Whatsapp message right, “My God Sana, my parents have finally agreed to our wedding!!!!”.

That was the last she could remember as she swerved quickly to the side to avoid hitting a rod on the highway and ended up crashing her car into a tree.

Darkness seeped into her body and enveloped her slowly as she remembered her mom’s loud voice lecture her to never touch her phone while driving.

“Get your face off the desk sleepyhead, our TL is walking this way, you can have your lunch nap later on!!!”, she woke up with a start to Manoj’s whisper, and swore never again to use her mobile phone while driving.

  1. sooper Paddy! a good one with a nice message! I strongly feel that no one should use mobile phone while driving – not just for texting or calling but even to connect to bluetooth, to change songs or do anything that would distract them even for a milli-second because thats all it would take to change your life or even worse, an innocent’s life in ways you cannot imagine.

Ditto. I agree to everything you said. Wish they could scare everyone off by saying the waves from a cell phone interferes with a car’s functioning and so needs to be turned off! Howz that?

  2. and i love how u finished it! i just cannot read anything with a sad ending! 🙂
